Pilardin Expands Intelligent OCR for Document Extraction

November 06, 20261 min read

Pilardin has expanded its intelligent OCR capabilities, making it easier to pull structured information out of scanned contracts, invoices, receipts, and forms. The update adds support for more languages, including right-to-left scripts, and improves handling of complex layouts such as multi-column pages, tables, and handwritten annotations.

Beyond raw text recognition, the new extraction engine identifies key fields like dates, amounts, vendor names, and line items, then maps them directly into Pilardin workflows. Users can configure extraction rules without code, and extracted data can trigger downstream actions such as approvals, database updates, or notifications. A confidence score is attached to each extracted field, so teams can review low-confidence results before they enter critical systems.

The OCR expansion also introduces batch processing for large document sets and tighter integration with Pilardin's document management features. Files can be processed on-premise or in the cloud, and results are stored alongside the original document for easy reference. Pilardin plans to add template-free extraction for industry-specific document types in future releases.
